Ved at høre en masse forskellig musik, både dance, trance og techno, har jeg forstået det sådan, at techno er meget mere ensformet med dyb bass hele vejen igennem. Hvorimod et dance nummer ikke er så ensformet, og hvor bassen tit slår fra i nogle sekunder.
